HP Officejet K550 Black Ink Failure

HP Officejet Pro K550 will not print Black Colour, HP Officjet K550 Black Ink Failure.OfficeJet Pro k550 series black out issue.

HP Officejet K550 does not print black ink though the printer and the print heads and catridges are new.this could occur due to several reasons. Follow the below troubleshooting steps to find the exact problem.

please follow the below sequence of troubleshooting steps:

** Print a 10-tap test to check the print quality.

Perform the below steps to to print a 10-tap Test and check whether the black grid is printed on the page or not.

1. Press and Hold the Power button.
2. Press X button once,
3. Release Power button.

If the is no black grid in the test page, follow the below steps to clean the printheads internally using 6-tap test.

6 Tap Test:

Follow the steps below to perform the cleaning of print heads:

1. Hold down the Power button.
2. Press the Resume button 6 times.
3. Release the Power button. The printer performs a cleaning routine that takes several minutes and makes a clicking or tapping noise. The procedure uses about 0.11 cc of black and yellow ink and 0.08 cc of magenta and cyan ink.
4. Printer will make some noises when you perform 6-tap test. Ask the customer to print a 10-test once the noises are stopped and check whether the black grid printed or not.

If there is no black grid, share the below link to customer to clean the printheads manually.

Once you are done with manual cleaning try to print a 10-tap test and check for black grid.

If the issue persists...

HP Deskjet 6980 Wireless Installation and Wireless Setup

HP Deskjet 6980 Wireless Installation and Wireless Setup In windows Vista and XP

NOTE: HP Deskjet 6900 series printers include 6940, 6943, 6980, and 6983 printers.
Follow the Steps to Install DeskJet 6980 printer in Wireless.

Connect the printer to router or switch temporarily With ethernet cable and press on check mark button to print a configuration page.Once the page gets printed, please take the IP address from the printed page and ping it from computer.

To ping, open command prompt and type ping IP address then press enter.

It will give the results of Sent, Received, and Lost. Please make sure that it pinging fine.

*****If it is pinging fine follow the below steps to install the printer.

1. Click on the Start menu, move the mouse to the Settings item and onto Printers and Faxes. Release the mouse button.

2. (Or Please click Start >>> Control Panel >>> Printers and other Hardware >>> Printers and Faxes)

3. Double click the Add Printer icon.

4. Click on Next> on the Welcome Dialogue.

5. Select Local Printer and uncheck Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer. Click on the Next Button.

6. Click on the Create a new port radio button and select Standard TCP/IP Port from the drop-down menu. Click on Next>.

7. On the Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard, click on Next>.

8. Type IP address in the text box labelled Printer Name or IP Address: It will be duplicated on the Port Name: text box. Click on Next>.

9. Depending on the type of printer you are setting up, you may be asked to select the appropriate Device Type. When you have done this and click on Next>.

10. Click Have Disk.

11. The "Install From Disk" dialog box appears. Click Browse.

12. Note: Ensure that the printer driver CD is currently inserted in the CD drive of your computer.

13. In the Browse dialog box, under Lookin drop down menu, select your CD drive.

14. In the box below, you can see ENU folder. Double-click ENU folder.

15. Now, double-click Drivers folder.

16. Double-click win2k_xp folder.

17. The hpfund09.inf file will be listed. Select it and click Ok.

18. Give the printer a name. Click on Next>.

19. Select Do not share this printer. Click on Next>.

20. 18. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the printer and Select Yes to print a test page. Click on Next>.

21. Click on Finish.

Once the installation is completed, perform the below steps to run the wireless wizard.

Please open an Internet Explorer window.

Type the IP address in the Address bar and press Enter:

The printer information page should be opened.

Click on Networking tab.

Click on 802.11 at the left side. Then click on Wireless setup tab.

Click on Start Wizard->click Next->Finish. NOTE: If it asks for WEP key, please give the WEP key (Router Security/Encryption Key) to complete the installation.

Disconnect the ethernet cable from the router and try printing.

*****If the IP address is not pinging from the computer try to reset the printer IP address using below steps..

Factory Reset:

1.Verify that the printer is on and idle. 2.Press and hold down the Report Page button. 3.While holding down the Report Page button, press the Cancel(X) button three times. 4.Release the Report Page button.

Now print a configuration page and ping it.

If it pings then continue with the installation, if it still does not ping..

Follow the below steps to route add the IP address..

Open the Command promopt window and type..

route add <> <> -t and press enter.

Then try pinging and continue with installation process.

I Hope You will be able to print in wireless mode with the 6980 printer.

Installing the printer software

Insert the software CD into the drive. If the CD does not automatically start, click Start , then Run . In the Run box, type d:\setup.exe (where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive). When the Welcome Screen opens, click Next .
Under Connection Type, select Wireless , and then click Next .
If Notice about Firewalls screen opens, click Next .
If an Internet Sharing screen opens, click Yes .
If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, a message may display about opening the ports on your firewall. Click Next .
If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, a Windows Security Alert message may state that the Windows Installer program is blocked. Click Unblock .
If the printer is found, follow the directions on the screen. Click Next .
Temporarily connect over an Ethernet connection. Wait for the green network icon to be on and steady, then select Yes, the cable is plugged in . Click Next .
Choose Search Again , and wait for the software to find the printer.
Confirm the correct printer was found and click Yes, install this printer .

If not sure that this is the right HP Deskjet 6840, print a network configuration page by tapping the checkmark icon and compare the IP address.
If the network has WEP settings a message will open prompting to enter them here. All devices on the wireless network must have matching security settings. Enter the network’s WEP key and click Next .
Click Next to accept the wireless settings or select Change Settings to change them.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable. Now that setup can communicate with the printer over 802.11, disconnect the network cable. Follow the steps below to do this.
- Disconnect the cable from the printer.
- Wait for the Blue Wireless light to turn on and steady.
- Wait for the network connection light to be green and steady.
- Wait for the signal strength indicator to be at the 2nd or 3rd setting.
- Click Next .
On the next screen, click Yes, install this printer . Follow the directions on the screen to complete the installation.

Internal Error 2738 in the Windows Vista While installing HP softwares

Fatal Internal Error 2738 Message Displays in Windows Vista During Installation.

This error might occur when you try to install any HP products in windows vista.Check the below solution to overcome the internal error 2738.This error usually occurs in windows vista pcs and windows vista operating systems.

Step 1. Run a command prompt in administrator mode (Start/All
Programs/Accessories/ right click on Command Prompt, select Run As
Administrator)

Step 2. type: cd %systemroot%\system32 Press Enter

Step 3. type: regsvr32 vbscript.dll Press Enter

Important Note: regsvr32, not regsrv32.

1. Search for the file VBSCRIPT.DLL on the computer. It is usually located in C:\Windows\System32 folder.

2. Click Start and then click Accessories .

3. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator .

4. Type the following in the command prompt:
CD C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
(or the appropriate folder location where VBSCRIPT.DLL is located).

5. Press Enter .

6. Type REGSVR32 VBSCRIPT.DLL in the command prompt and press Enter .
A message displays that VBSCRIPT has been installed successfully.

7. Install the HP software.

(Tip)It is always recommended to clean the registry using the registry cleaners , I prefer AVG Antispyware Which is free to download. search the google and download for better performance of your pc.

An HPQCA has encountered a problem When using HP software

HPQCA has encountered a problem and needs to be close” when trying to use the HP Instant Share Software or email option from the HP director.

Cause:- This issue occurs because of conflcit between Windows XP Service Pack 2 and HP Photo & Imaging Gallery.

Solution:- Download and install the Critical update for HP Gallery and Instant Share failure
