HP Deskjet 6800 and 6900 Series Printers - Installing Printer Software for Wireless Infrastucture

Installing the printer software

Insert the software CD into the drive. If the CD does not automatically start, click Start , then Run . In the Run box, type d:\setup.exe (where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive). When the Welcome Screen opens, click Next .
Under Connection Type, select Wireless , and then click Next .
If Notice about Firewalls screen opens, click Next .
If an Internet Sharing screen opens, click Yes .
If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, a message may display about opening the ports on your firewall. Click Next .
If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, a Windows Security Alert message may state that the Windows Installer program is blocked. Click Unblock .
If the printer is found, follow the directions on the screen. Click Next .
Temporarily connect over an Ethernet connection. Wait for the green network icon to be on and steady, then select Yes, the cable is plugged in . Click Next .
Choose Search Again , and wait for the software to find the printer.
Confirm the correct printer was found and click Yes, install this printer .

If not sure that this is the right HP Deskjet 6840, print a network configuration page by tapping the checkmark icon and compare the IP address.
If the network has WEP settings a message will open prompting to enter them here. All devices on the wireless network must have matching security settings. Enter the network’s WEP key and click Next .
Click Next to accept the wireless settings or select Change Settings to change them.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable. Now that setup can communicate with the printer over 802.11, disconnect the network cable. Follow the steps below to do this.
- Disconnect the cable from the printer.
- Wait for the Blue Wireless light to turn on and steady.
- Wait for the network connection light to be green and steady.
- Wait for the signal strength indicator to be at the 2nd or 3rd setting.
- Click Next .
On the next screen, click Yes, install this printer . Follow the directions on the screen to complete the installation.

Software & Driver downloads For HP Officejet H470

Internal Error 2738 in the Windows Vista While installing HP softwares

Fatal Internal Error 2738 Message Displays in Windows Vista During Installation.

This error might occur when you try to install any HP products in windows vista.Check the below solution to overcome the internal error 2738.This error usually occurs in windows vista pcs and windows vista operating systems.

Step 1. Run a command prompt in administrator mode (Start/All
Programs/Accessories/ right click on Command Prompt, select Run As
Administrator)

Step 2. type: cd %systemroot%\system32 Press Enter

Step 3. type: regsvr32 vbscript.dll Press Enter

Important Note: regsvr32, not regsrv32.

1. Search for the file VBSCRIPT.DLL on the computer. It is usually located in C:\Windows\System32 folder.

2. Click Start and then click Accessories .

3. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator .

4. Type the following in the command prompt:
CD C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
(or the appropriate folder location where VBSCRIPT.DLL is located).

5. Press Enter .

6. Type REGSVR32 VBSCRIPT.DLL in the command prompt and press Enter .
A message displays that VBSCRIPT has been installed successfully.

7. Install the HP software.

(Tip)It is always recommended to clean the registry using the registry cleaners , I prefer AVG Antispyware Which is free to download. search the google and download for better performance of your pc.

An HPQCA has encountered a problem When using HP software

HPQCA has encountered a problem and needs to be close” when trying to use the HP Instant Share Software or email option from the HP director.

Cause:- This issue occurs because of conflcit between Windows XP Service Pack 2 and HP Photo & Imaging Gallery.

Solution:- Download and install the Critical update for HP Gallery and Instant Share failure

Sharing Printer between XP- and Windows Vista-Pc

The other day, I tried to share a printer which is installed on XP PC to vista laptop, earlier I was bit confused after some desperate tries I resulted in sucessful sharing of my printer from desktop(XP) to laptop(vista).

How I did that? Please check the below steps to share the printer from windows xp to vista

Windows XP:

Please follow the below steps from the Windows XP computer to which the printer is connected directly.

Click Start >Right-click on My Computer (Host Computer).Select Properties.Here you can find the 'Computer name' tab.(lets say computer name as "mypc")
Note this Full Computer Name here.

Windows XP:

After the steps are done, follow the below steps from the same Windows XP computer to which the printer is connected:

1. Click Start, Control Panel, then Printers and Faxes.
2. Right-click your printer icon, then select the Sharing option from the list.
3. Click on Sharing tab and enter a share name such as, print1(remember this name)
4. Click on OK.
The printer is now shared as print1.

Steps to be performed to share the printer from the client Windows Vista computer:

Click Start and click Control Panel.

Click Hardware and Sound then Printers.

Click Add a printer. This launches the Add Printer Wizard.

Choose Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.

A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name.

Type in the \\FullComputername\SharedPrintername

ex: \\mypc\print1

Click Next.

Under the Manufacturers list, select your manufacturer.

Under the Printers list, select the model no of the printer and click Next.

Under Do you want to use this printer as the default printer? select "Yes" and click Next.

When asked to print a test page, select "Yes", then Finish.

You are done.

This will allow you to share a printer which is instaled on a windows xp pc to windows viosta laptop or desktop
